Starting his culinary journey at the tender age of 8, Dobbers began honing his skills in his mothers catering business situated in the charming town of Esperance in WA. However, his ambitions extended far beyond the confines of his hometown. At the age of 17, he made the courageous decision to relocate to Melbourne, driven by his unwavering dream of becoming a great chef.

Dobbers embarked on a remarkable professional journey, immersing himself in the culinary world alongside some of Melbourne’s most esteemed chefs. His notable experiences include working at the esteemed Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkled under the guidance of the acclaimed Dan Hunter. Additionally, he spent formative years alongside Joseph Vargetto currently of Mister Bianco and Stuart McVeigh currently of the Scott Pickett Group. Seeking to broaden his horizons, Dobbers ventured abroad, refining his craft in Europe, Singapore, and Hong Kong, before ultimately returning to his home country to establish his own venture at the age of 25.

Until recently Dobbers was proudly leading the kitchen at Market Bistro in Maroochydore, bringing his passion for classic bistro cuisine to the picturesque Sunshine Coast. During his tenure at Market Bistro he took immense pride in crafting dishes that exude simplicity and elegance, utilizing the wealth of knowledge, techniques, and skills accumulated over his 23-year culinary career. With inspiration in the foundations of classical French cuisine, allowing the artistry of traditional techniques and methods to shine, while infusing each creation with his own touch of originality and purpose.  

However after his videos of life in the Market Bistro kitchen gained him a loyal following on social media Dobbers decided to step out of the kitchen to focus full time on content creation. With an am an purpose of sharing the years and wealth of knowledge to the masses with and aim to share the love and create meaningful, educational, informative content the wider culinary & foodie community.

The newest project for Dobbers is the release of his YouTube channel “Food By Dobbers” which is already proving popular among chefs and home cooks alike with his first series back to basics, with many more exciting series and instalments to come.
